First Fallout 4 DLC & Season Pass Price Increase Announced

Today Bethesda announced the first 3 pieces of DLC for their hit game Fallout 4. However, on the tail end of that announcement also came the news that the season pass price will increase on March 1st from the current $29.99 to $49.99. There is some good news about that though which is that anyone who buys the season pass at the current $29.99 price will still get all the content of the $49.99 priced season pass. The DLC announced today has a cumulative price of $39.97.

The first DLC add-on to be released will be called Automatron and will release for $9.99 US in March 2016.

“The mysterious Mechanist has unleashed a horde of evil robots into the Commonwealth, including the devious Robobrain. Hunt them down and harvest their parts to build and mod your own custom robot companions. Choose from hundreds of mods; mixing limbs, armor, abilities, and weapons like the all-new lightning chain gun. Even customize their paint schemes and choose their voices!”

The second DLC to be released will be called Wasteland Workshop and will release for $4.99 US in April 2016.

“With the Wasteland Workshop, design and set cages to capture live creatures – from raiders to Deathclaws! Tame them or have them face off in battle, even against your fellow settlers. The Wasteland Workshop also includes a suite of new design options for your settlements like nixi tube lighting, letter kits, taxidermy and more!”

The third DLC to be announced today will be called Far Harbor and will release for $24.99 US in April 2016.

FO4_Add-On_Pack_far_harbor_1000

Fallout4_DLC_FarHarbor03

“A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.”

They also stated that there are plans for even more DLC to come out this year with a total of over $60 worth of DLC coming out in 2016. While many are seeing it as a marketing ploy to increase the amount of times the season pass is purchased you have to admit that at least they’re doing it the smart way by announcing the increase at the same time as they announce DLC that adds up to more than the current season pass price. Far Harbor is the one that interests me the most but I’m still looking forward to the others to see what all they bring to the game.

Has this announcement today made you decide to go ahead and buy the season pass? Let us know in the comments.
